The FRC is located in the Promenade Mall in Thornhill. We provide:
- a drop-in centre where parents/caregivers and their pre-schoolers can enjoy story time, music circle, arts and crafts, or simply share some fun
- a range of quality programs, activities and workshops designed to strengthen families and enable the whole family, as well as its members individually, to reach their potential
- a parents’ conversation area for meeting, exchanging ideas and sharing concerns
- a source of information and referrals to a network of family services in York Region and the Greater Toronto Area
- resources for newcomers
The Family Resource Centre is a collaborative program of JF&CS, the Prosserman JCC, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, All Our Kids and is funded in part by United Way York Region and the City of York Region.

FRC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Clothing Cupboard Assistant | 3 hours, 2-3 days per week
- To sort and organize clothing donations
- To assist shoppers at the Clothing Cupboard
Skills:
- Good organizational skills
- Non judgemental
- Ability to work well with others – staff, volunteers, shoppers
- Enjoys company of children
Training & Orientation:
- An orientation to the Agency is given by the Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
- On site training is provided by Family Resource Centre Supervisor
Family Resource Centre Drop-In Assistant | 10:00 am – 12:00 noon, 2-3 days per week
To assist with drop-in activities as directed by Family Resource Centre Staff
Skills:
- Teaching/ECE background
- Experience working with children
- Non judgemental
- Ability to work well with others – staff, volunteers, participants
Responsibilities:
- To support the staff and families at the Family Resource Centre by assisting with the drop-in activities – i.e. arts & crafts, music, Shabbat programming, etc.
- To interact with the kids, parents, grandparents, care-givers, etc.
- To assist with the Clothing Cupboard when needed
- To clean/sterilize toys
Training & Orientation:
- An orientation to the Agency is given by the Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
- On site training is provided by Family Resource Centre Supervisor
